TESERO, Italy (AP) — Jessie Diggins crossed the line Sunday as she has done so often over 15 years on the world stage — with the tank entirely empty. Collapsed on the snow with her chest heaving, Diggins ended a 50-kilometer race in fifth place — just a few seconds shy of one more medal.
Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo has gone 6-for-6 in this year’s Games, meaning he’s won a gold medal in all six of his cross-country skiing events. His six golds are the most ever recorded by an athlete at a single Winter Games.
“They’re cheering for their favorite athletes,” one viewer said. Another added: “Translation...Go for the gold!”
